"ducks & a tree"

About me...
I have lived in many places and done many things in this lifetime and at the moment I am happiest being mama to two small boys and partner to their papa, all thriving on sunshine and love on the southern coast of Victoria.

About my square...
I like to find creative projects that I can pick up and put down easily as we go through our days. The quilt project was a lot of fun. It went with me to the beach, tap lessons, picnics in sheoak forests, survived splashes at the local pool and had a lot of help from small hands.

I asked my youngest son what I should do and he said, "a tree with some ducks underneath". So here it is!

All the line work is an improvised form of stem stitch and the leaves are either satin stitch, fern stitch or stem stitch. I did french knots for the ducks eyes. This was my first embroidery project so I am pretty happy at how it turned out.

Find me...
I do have a blog at oneandfour.com but with only a few entries in the last two years I can't call myself a prolific blogger, but that's ok, one day I will find my niche.

I second Michelle, the design really does stand out. Simply beautiful. Nice placement and sizing of your figure.

I am unable to decide which I like more - your beautiful, happy tree or those charming ducks. Doesn't matter - the whole is better than the parts and the whole is just wonderful.

Your design was the first I was compelled to comment on. The design to me represents shelter and friendship; and both of these things make you feel warm and safe. I truly love your's and your son's design and you did a beautiful job on the stitching.

Those ducks are perhaps the most adorable, sweet ducks I've seen. Lovely work.
