applique flower

About me ...
I love to design, sew and play around with lovely things. I have a passion for beautiful fabric and have decided to have a go at designing and printing my own under the label Yardage Design. My blog is my creative outlet and journal of my adventures making things.

About my square ...

My square is appliqu├ęd red and white fabrics with some machine embroidery embellishments and a vintage button. I chose a flower because I love the shapes of petals, and I wanted to layer fabrics to give a “burst” of red in the square.

The fabric of the smaller flower is a Liberty Print (Millie) – significant to me because Liberty Prints were my first fabric obsession. Years ago, I started sewing seriously using Liberty Prints, so it’s fitting that they feature in this stage of my sewing journey after so much time away from it.

It has been such a pleasure to be involved in this project, and to be surrounded by so many talented and creative people. I hope you are inspired by our quilt.
